The 2024 Polaris Ranger XD 1500 Is a Time Machine

Five things we love and hate about the new Ranger.

We were eager to spend some more time behind the wheel of the 2024 Polaris Ranger XD 1500 before the company officially unveiled the machine, but that short ride wasn’t nearly enough time to figure out everything we like about the new three-quarter-ton side-by-side. Fortunately, Polaris had us out to a spectacular ranch in Wyoming to give the vehicle a proper shakedown over two days. What did we learn? There’s much more to the XD 1500 than its payload and towing capacities.

Its excellent suspension, impressive ground clearance, and quiet, sealed cabin all made for an excellent few days of riding. Cleverness like a true vacuum-over-hydraulic brake system, cabin air filter, and electric dump bed make the Ranger XD 1500 stand out from the rest of the utility field. We put together a list of five things we love and hate about the new heavy-duty utility rig, and you can catch the video below. If you like what you see, you can also check out our Buyer’s Guide.
