2015 Maverick 1000R MAX X ds First Look

The 2015 Can-Am Maverick MAX X ds, which offers comfortable seating for four adult occupants, will also be available with either the 976cc, Rotax 1000R engine or the first-of-its-kind, factory- added 121-hp turbocharged Rotax engine. All X ds upgrades are also included in the MAX X ds and Turbo X ds packages. Stadium seating, unmatched legroom, dual handholds, and premium race-inspired bucket seats with full backrest, lumbar and shoulder support and side bolsters come standard. The turbocharged Rotax 1000R is equipped with an all-new intake system featur- ing a high-flow Donaldson airbox, air-to-air intercooler and revised plenum, keeping the engine breathing cool and clean air for optimal performance. The engine itself features new forged pistons and high-capacity injectors. A revised CVT, which includes a Quick Response System (QRS) on new driven pulley, new impeller designs for both pulleys and increased airflow via a new inlet and enlarged outlets, provides efficient transfer of power to the ground and nearly instant throttle response.

Along with is exceptional performance output, the Maverick X ds platform features a completely new rear end that provides a longer, 88-in. wheelbase, redesigned TTA rear suspension now featuring 16-in. of travel, new front A-arms and Can-Am exclusive high- performance Fox 2.5 Podium RC2 rear shocks with bottom-out cup. This unique setup pro- vides the X ds with a capable, comfortable and adjustable handling package. And with its mid-engine layout, Tri-mode DPS, new quick-ratio steering, new 14-in. aluminum beadlock wheels and 28-in. Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires, it provides a precise and nimble ride.
