Six-Woman Polaris Team Takes on Iceland

In September, Polaris UK pitted six women and three UTVs against the volcanic island.

A team of six women from across Europe took a trio of Polaris side-by-sides on a weeklong quest last month across the breathtaking volcanic countryside of Iceland. We can’t think of a cooler destination for a set of UTVs than Iceland, which is a country of astonishing geographic diversity—its ice caps, beaches, craters, and lava fields have to be seen to be understood.

The six-woman team represented Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The group left from Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital, and struck out into the wilderness for a week of camping and overlanding. In all, the three-rig group covered 1,200 kilometers, or about 750 miles.

For the adventure, Polaris supplied a Polaris General 1000 Deluxe ABS, a Polaris Ranger 1000 Nordic Pro, and a Polaris RZR XP 1000. All three rigs were slightly modified with bigger tires and wheels, and fully outfitted for overlanding. Cardo Systems also pitched in with a set of Packtalk radios to allow the team to keep in contact on the move.

There’s a full video look at the trip in the works, and we can’t wait to see the adventure in detail.
