2018 Polaris ACE 900XC Vs. 1989 Honda Pilot FL400

By the numbers

As we hold our breath waiting for Honda to jump back into the sport UTV game, we wanted to share with you a comparison chart of the 1989 Honda Pilot FL400 and a modern day single seater, the Polaris ACE 900XC.UTV Driver

Hondas Pilot basically had no competition at the time from similar vehicles. It was powered by a big 400cc two stroke engine probably putting out around 50 Hp. The ACE 900 puts out just under 80 Hp. However, the Pilot weighs about half as much at 593lb. Both machines have similar wheelbase, width and lengths but the Pilot is lacking in the suspension and braking departments. Another interesting note, according to the Kelly Blue Book, a 1989 Honda Pilot in excellent condition would be worth exactly the same as what it sold for new; $5500. Check out the rest of the specs we have gathered from the two machines.
