Citroën has debuted a quirky UTV concept called the My Ami Buggy. It’s an adorable little all-electric machine that puts high priority on sustainability and, in typical Citroën fashion, packing in as much eccentricity as possible.

We’re seeing automakers look to the side-by-side world more and more these days. Lexus recently showed off a hydrogen-powered UTV concept, and now Citroën has joined the party. With the My Ami Buggy, Citroën is musing about a future side-by-side as both a city runabout and countryside explorer. Citroën says it has a “friendly backpacker personality,” and we definitely see that in the styling and motives for the project. Although the overall package is compact, it has off-road inputs like bull bars, LED lights, mud tires on steel wheels, and rock guards protecting the headlights. This is our kind of crossover.

Underneath the cute styling and 4x4-derived design elements lives an electric drivetrain, so drivers can enjoy the fun of adventure without any noise pollution. Cleverly, the charging cord tucks away into the passenger door frame and acts as a handle when unused. There’s also a panoramic roof, roof rack, roof-mounted spare tire, and modular accessories and storage options for maximized use of the limited space.

Citroën says the My Ami Buggy is “a concept car playfully imagined, that every child from the age of 14 to 77 would want to add to their Christmas list.” Consider us intrigued.
