Polaris is suing MTN.Top, a snowmobile accessory brand founded by Allen Mangum, alleging intellectual property violations. Mangum was the original owner of Timbersled, another snowmobile accessory brand that Polaris bought in 2015. Mangum worked for Polaris until 2020, when he left to form MTN.Top.

MTN.Top has the same concept as the original Timbersled brand, which is making mountain snowbike conversion kits. Since Mangum left Polaris to start a company that competes with the brand, Polaris is suing for an IP violation. The case revolves around whether Mangum came up with the idea when he was working for Polaris. If he did, then Polaris says the idea belongs to them.

Currently, Mangum’s YouTube and any podcast he was featured on is being studied to determine if there is any evidence of his coming up with the idea while at Polaris.
