HMF’S Titan Dual RZR Exhaust Review

A solid performer built to last

Some of us get pretty picky when it comes to exhaust on a UTV. Since CVT clutches keep the engine singing the same note all day long, we tend to lean toward keeping the volume at a tolerable level. With aftermarket exhaust systems, sometimes that is hard to do! Polaris’ parallel-twin 925cc turbocharged ProStar engine has a wonderful bark to it, and we aimed to keep that sound intact. HMF’s Titan QS slip-on exhaust system is a great way to squeeze a little more performance, better looks, and a crisper sound out of your RZR XP Turbo. HMF also manufactures high-quality exhaust systems for every major UTV and ATV on the market.

HMF’s Titan QS is available in a slip-on or full system, available in three colors and two different sound levels. In our testing on multiple cars, the Titan has performed well and held up to thousands of miles without issue.Cody Hooper

The Titan QS dual exhaust system is available in a slip-on or full system, starting at $799.95. There are other color options available besides uncoated stainless, including gunmetal gray textured finish or full Blackout ceramic coating. Our favorite had to be the uncoated stainless for the bluing and discoloration the bare metal takes on after being heat cycled. The whole system installs in about 10 to 15 minutes using basic hand tools, and uses pre-existing holes in the RZR’s frame.

HMF claims an increase of 5.5 hp and 3 pound-feet without a tune for the slip-on, and for the full system those numbers increase with a good tune. The mufflers themselves are 5 inches in diameter and are built from 304 stainless steel. A proprietary mechanical core that HMF calls the “Quiet QS” is said to filter out the harsh high-pitched sounds the stock exhaust system emits, leaving a deep, aggressive tone. It works wonders, as the Titan-equipped XP Turbo pictured here sounds absolutely fantastic. Seat-of-the-pants feel is marginally different, and you won’t be able to notice the power increase on the XP Turbo but a few times per ride. The key here is the look and the sound, and HMF has both nailed.

We have run the HMF Titan QS system on a couple of different XP Turbos, and have had great results. The long-term durability is great—we are still running one on an early-release 2016 XP Turbo that has more than 2,800 miles on it. We have had zero issues with fitment, even after the exhaust has been heat cycled hundreds of times. Different cores are available on HMF’s website to increase or decrease the sound level, and the mufflers are spark arrested for USFS legal use.
