UTV Garage: How to Change A Polaris RZR XP Turbo CVT Clutch Drive Belt

Quick Video & Maintenance Tips

Quickly learn how to change the CVT drive belt in your Polaris RZR XP Turbo UTV. More CVT break-in and maintenance tips below.

A proper break-in of the Polaris RZR XP Turbo clutches and drive belt will ensure a longer life and better performance. Break in the clutches and belt by operating at slower speeds during the break-in period as recommended. Carry only light loads, avoid aggressive acceleration and high speed operation during break-in period.

Above and beyond the Polaris recommended PVT belt break-in, we like to remove drive belt after break in and clean it with hot soapy water. This and at least an hour of the belt break in procedure should be followed every time you replace the belt.

If a belt fails, it is important to clean any debris from the ducting and engine compartment. It is also a good idea to clean the aluminum clutch sheaves of any belt residue with a piece of Scotch Brite, or very fine Emory cloth.
