Ford has announced it is halting production of the F-150 Lightning after batteries for the truck failed pre-shipment inspections. No further details have been released, as Ford says it is still investigating the exact issues. Production and deliveries have been halted since the beginning of last week.
“The team is diligently working on the root cause analysis,” a Ford spokesperson says. Ford is working on resolving any possible issues before resuming scheduled deliveries, and has yet to set a time frame for when that might be.
“It depends on how long it will take to conduct the root cause analysis,” Ford told Motor Authority. No recalls on in-service Lightnings have been released as of now.
