Sasha DiGiulian gears up for a climb.Polaris

The latest episode of the 2024 Polaris Xpedition-centric YouTube series Chasing the Wild just dropped, and it features world-class rock climber Sasha DiGiulian. She’s a legend, having earned a gold at the International Federation of Sport Climbing World Championships in 2011, but her titles go beyond hardware. She was also the first female in the world to climb a grade 9a, 5.14d. While that sounds like something pulled from the back of our router to those of us not in the sport climbing world, rest assured that’s one of the hardest sport climbs out there. For comparison, Yosemite’s El Capitan shakes out at a 5.12d VI. Not to over simplify, but the higher the number, the burlier the climb.

So DiGiulian’s no stranger to the kind of experiences that would turn most of us into trembling goo. Fitting, then, that she’d spend some time behind the wheel of the Xpedition with a friend, hunting out climbs near her home in Colorado.

That’s a pretty perfect use for the new Polaris sport-rec rig. Throw a bunch of gear and a cooler in the back, strap it all down, get where you’re going, and lock everything up tight. Check out the video below.
