Cardo has just released a waterproof microphone for its Packtalk Edge system, so while you’re getting wet and filthy on the trails you can still confidently communicate with your group.
As mentioned, the new IP67-certified hybrid boom mic is designed for the Packtalk Edge and Packtalk Edge ORV systems and, interestingly, also features a frost-resistant mic cover for those recreating in northern climates. But no matter where you’re riding or driving, moisture is moisture. And obviously, moisture of any sort is the enemy of anything electronic.
Said microphone is available now at Cardo dealers and online for $24.95. It’s compatible with most existing Cardo devices, like Packtalk, Freecom X, and Spirit. It is not compatible with Edgephones.
So that’s what the new Cardo mic is. What can you now do with it? You’re free to dictate poetry on the trails, smack-talk your fellow companions, or play hero as you come to the rescue of a fellow rider who needs help. Or you can do what UTV Driver does, and record fun commentary while bouncing over boulders and impossible hills while it’s raining at Windrock. But you do you, fellow UTV enthusiasts.
