Watch Us Ruin a Maverick X3

In the best way possible.

Worse. But also better?Jackson Cooper

Listen, sometimes I have ideas, and those ideas are bad. And when you leave me with a full shop, a little walking around money, and a Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS Turbo RR, I’m going to act on those notions. This time, that yielded one of the best/worst machines I’ve ever hot-glued together: a 1969 VW Beetle on said Can-Am. The internet is full of well-executed versions of this machine. This is not that. Because of a particularly mean schedule, we had to put this vehicle together in three days. And boy, does it show.

No, it’s not good.Jackson Cooper

Despite the crooked lines, booger welds, and rust, this thing is hilarious and great. The bug body looks like it belongs on the X3, and gives the plastic-fantastic side-by-side some much needed character. Are we done with this thing? Not even close, but trust us when we say you’ll want to catch the video below to see just how sideways things got before we got to turn a wheel in anger.
