Arctic Cat’s SVX450 Snow Bike

While we have been patiently waiting for AC to come out with an upgraded Wild Cat 1000, the news from them this week is exciting. For the 2017 snow season AC is launching a brand new category called the Snow Bike. These machines have been popular in the custom realm for a couple years now but this is the first OEM product. In fact Polaris recently bought the largest producer of Snow Bike’s, Timber Sled. Arctic Cat’s SVX is a 450cc powered machine that looks very similar to a KTM Dirt Bike. We are sure future models will have larger 510cc and 525cc engines.

What’s even more exciting is that the their snowmobile line will feature a brand new 180 horsepower 3 cylinder, 998cc turbo engine (built by Yamaha) that will go in their 9000 Series Arctic Cat snowmobiles next year. This lightweight power plant could find it’s way into that updated Wild Cat we are waiting for. We can only hope.
