Polaris released its Geared for Good Environmental, Social, and Governance Report last week, and used the opportunity to roll out a list of new sustainability goals for 2035. The report also logged the brand’s progress in the four areas of its Geared for Good initiative.

By 2035, Polaris said it hopes to be using 90 percent recycled materials in its off-road vehicles, reach 75 percent renewable energy use globally, reduce its Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect) greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent, divert 90 percent of its waste away from landfills, and implement a water stewardship program in all of its plants.

As for what the brand achieved in 2022, the report says Polaris engineers were granted 70 patents in 2022, created the Empowersports Diverse Riding Council of multicultural advocates, invested in solar energy projects to serve its manufacturing facilities in France and China, made its first grant through the Polaris Fund for Outdoor Recreation (which is a partnership with the National Forest Foundation), and paid more than $545,000 in tuition reimbursements for its employees and granted 120 scholarships.
