Yamaha announces official SXS race support

This week, Yamaha officially announced that it will be partnering with Dustin Nelson and Corry Weller for the Lucas Oil Off Road Regional Series events in California and Arizona. This is the same series the pair has dominated lately in their SR1 cars which are basically modified Rhino chassis with a Yamaha R1 street bike engine providing power. It was no doubt a secret testing ground for Yamaha’s development of the YXZ. Hopefully it is a start of big things to come from the company that has been dominating ATV racing for most of this decade. In addition to the racing the LOORRS, Nelson will compete in select WORCS events and Weller will bring a factory supported YXZ1000R to a few BITD desert events this season.

That news is good for those two driver’s but what about you? Yamaha is actually considering helping out a few top teams in select series across the country for 2017.
