Gas Monkey Garage Put 35s on a Slingshot

Richard Rawlings and the crew at Gas Monkey Garage have wandered into our neck of the woods. Polaris recently reached out to Rawlings to see if he’d put his signature touch on the company’s three-wheel Slingshot, and the result is something we can get behind. The build is centered around three 35-inch Nitto Terra Grappler M/T tires. To get them to fit, Gas Monkey had to rework the machine’s suspension, fabricating new control arms and tie-rod ends up front as well as a new swingarm in the rear.

Then the team ran into another problem: The stock hood no longer fit. Rawlings asked Polaris to whip up a special one-off hood with larger fender openings to accommodate those massive tires, and the company obliged. A full bumper, rock sliders, and KC lights helped round the thing out. We’ve got to say, we dig it.

Would we trade our Trail S for it? Not in a million years, but we would love to play around with the same engine that will power the new RZR XP Pro R on our favorite tracks. Check out the video below for a closer look at Rawlings’ handiwork.
