It was only a matter of time before Kawasaki joined the four-seat performance UTV market, and that day is, finally, nearly upon us. Kawi has released a teaser for its upcoming four-seater side-by-side, and has even taken to promoting it on its website. The machine is set to be released on June 7, 2022. Mark your calendars.
The standard-issue 2022 Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000 has long been one of our favorite UTVs—it took home our Editor’s Choice award in the sport category last year—and it has only improved over time. But while Can-Am and Polaris have been pumping out four-seat versions of their high-performance side-by-sides, Kawasaki has made do with two seats. After a long wait, Kawasaki is now joining the four-up party with the slogan, “You’ll want to bring some friends.” The brand has been building the smaller Teryx4 for some time, but it’s nowhere near the performance machine that the KRX is. Those friends better have good motion-sickness resistance.
We have high hopes for the Teryx4 KRX 1000. It should put up a good fight against the Can-Am and Polaris four-seaters of the UTV world, if not on the horsepower front then certainly when it comes to suspension and chassis tuning. Will Kawi bring out any special tricks or treatment for its newest machine? We’ll know soon enough.
