Vettel and Loeb Battle It Out in Polaris RZR-Fueled Snow Race

Battle of the Sebs showcases Pro XPs in 2022 Race of Champions finale.

Battle of the Sebastians yielded better results for Loeb than for Vettel in 2022.Race of Champions

At the 2022 Race of Champions, Formula 1 legend and four-time champion Sebastian Vettel and nine-time WRC champion Sébastien Loeb went head-to-head in Polaris RZRs. We’ve been waiting for a long time to see what two legends from motorsports highest categories could do in a side-by-side, and ROC stepped up in a big way. The international racing event collects “some of the world’s best racing drivers” (their words, not ours) and pits them against each other to showcase individual talent over the team’s budget and skill.

The 31st running of the Race of Champions happened earlier this month in the bitter cold of Piteå, Sweden, making use of the frozen landscape with a snow and ice format. Unlike most professional racing, the Race of Champions has the drivers in identical cars. The variable of testing, tuning, and preparation of individual teams is all but gone in the ROC. As for those cars, the celebrity race section was in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, with other rounds taking place in Olsbergs MSE-prepped Supercar Lites and RX2e spec racers. After much dueling the ultimate round saw Sébastien Loeb and Sebastian Vettel racing against each other in Polaris RZR Pro XPs.

The highlight reel is exciting to watch, and it’s mesmerizing to see two racers as respected, established, and successful as Loeb and Vettel fighting it out for Race of Champions supremacy. Who came out on top? Watch the video below to find out.
