The 2022 Yamaha RMAX2 Sport just arrived at our Tennessee headquarters, and it’s a fantastic looking beast. It’s got a leg up over the 2021 models we loved so well with new tires, new colors, and unique Fox 2.0 piggyback shocks with 12 clicks of high- and low-speed compression adjustment. A massive 14.2 inches of front suspension and 16.9 inches of rear suspension travel result in an industry-leading 13.8 inches of ground clearance. We can’t wait to give this thing a proper thrash down Trail 22 at Windrock Park, but till then, enjoy some glamor shots while the rig is still clean.

Complete LED lighting, factory windshield accessories, winch options, underbody protection, and more, all make this rig an industry contender.Kevan Ray
The hydraulic-assisted rear utility bed plays two roles for the RMAX. It allows owners to move cargo and works with Yamaha’s line of accessories that slot into the bed’s frame.Kevan Ray
Sleek aggressive lines accent a short wheelbase that’s both sport and utility focused. Wide doors make ingress easier while massive fenders make room for mud-shoveling tires.Kevan Ray
Reptile-like lines make this machine stand out strapped to a trailer or on the trail. The Sport trim is the only way to get true Team Yamaha Blue on your RMAX. It tells everyone you’ve got advanced suspension under that bold bodywork.Kevan Ray
The RMAX 1000 Sport offers unique Fox 2.0 piggyback shocks that give 12 clicks of high- and low-speed compression adjustment. A massive 14.2 inches of front suspension and 16.9 inches of rear suspension travel result in an industry-leading 13.8 inches of ground clearance.Kevan Ray
GBC 30x10R-14 dual-pattern tires sit on all four corners of the RMAX Sport for even more performance customization, depending upon the terrain.Kevan Ray
All four tires mount to true factory 14-inch beadlock wheels with Team Yamaha Blue accent rings to ensure you never lose a tire bead while you’re racing down the trail.Kevan Ray
Conventionally opening doors go without exterior handles to ensure smooth operation even in the dirtiest situations. Soft-touch panels are carefully positioned inside the cab to reduce body fatigue over a long day’s ride. Automotive-style materials drape the steering wheel, dash, and heavily bolstered bucket seats.Kevan Ray
A factory plastic windshield accessory has been added to our test unit. With a quick unclipping of two clasps, you can have a face full of fresh air when you need it. Just remember, always tow a windshield-equipped UTV facing forward or risk blowing it out at interstate speeds.Kevan Ray
The interior of the RMAX Sport is spartan compared to the XT-R and Limited Edition trims. It does away with all entertainment accessories, only leaving the brawn you need to conquer Mother Earth. You still get the Yamaha D-modes switch, true 4WD with front differential locker, and the ability to add the factory touchscreen at a later point.Kevan Ray
The Yamaha Ultramatic CVT drivetrain propels passengers forward in high or low gearing. Neutral and reverse are also selectable with the center-mounted gear lever. A conventional parking brake gives that confident stopping power when you’re on the side of a hill.Kevan Ray
Custom Team Yamaha Blue two-tone bucket seats are embroidered with the model name to show off the model line’s proud heritage. They’re extra comfortable too.Kevan Ray
Bonus: Here’s a phone background picture for you RMAX fanboys and fangirls out there. Show it off all the time.Kevan Ray
