Cool Custom UTVs From Rally On The Rocks

Some of the best custom-built in Moab, Utah

There are days we definitely do not hate our jobs at UTV Driver. Getting the invite from Kawasaki to go to Rally on the Rocks in Moab, Utah, this past spring was certainly one of those days. The rally, held in May, has grown to be the second-largest event in Moab outside of the Easter Jeep Safari, and it's the biggest event for UTVs in the legendary location. It brings in thousands of people and machines, with some truly sick custom builds on display. Here are just a few of the coolest machines we saw at the rally.

Kawasaki Teryx4

Our ride for the trail was an accessorized 2018 Kawasaki Teryx4 LE. While not the wildest build there for sure, the Teryx is one of the most capable machines on the market for hammering through rough terrain. The Teryx has steadfastly remained one of those machines we all love, and it has built a loyal following among enthusiasts everywhere.Derrek Sigler

Factory Support

One of the great things about the rally was the factory support. Manufacturers were on hand to not only show off their products but also offer support for people who own those products. Fox Shocks was there offering setup and maintenance. There was everything from trucks helping folks put on new tires, to others doing full-blown suspension system builds in the parking lot.Derrek Sigler

Can-Am

Can-Am had a huge display of the Maverick X3 machines, including the new X rc Turbo R rock crawler. The Mavericks were second only to Polaris RZRs in numbers seen in the pits and on the trails.Derrek Sigler

A Custom Mav

Can-Am also had a sweet custom rig under the awning built with some help from Lone Star. It also had a bevy of rather attractive “spokesmodels” trying to get folks to sign up to win a new Maverick. We didn’t take any pictures of them, though, because we knew you all wouldn’t be interested.Derrek Sigler

XX Turbo

There was so much buzz surrounding this machine in the huge Textron Off Road display. We all know the Turbo Wildcat XX is coming, and this custom build certainly looked “factory” enough.Derrek Sigler

XX Love

The Wildcat XX is rapidly catching on, and there were quite a few at the rally and on the trails. This sweet D&P Performance build caught more than a few people’s attention. A sweet-looking Havoc X was there too.Derrek Sigler

Cub Cadet

Cub Cadet is really trying to carve out a chunk of the recreation market for itself, and it had a solid presence at the rally. I’d expect to see more Cub Cadet machines on the trails in the coming years.Derrek Sigler

Polaris RS1

There were more than a few Polaris RZR RS1s on hand, but none were as trick as this custom Rogue Offroad build in the AudioFormz’s booth. The cage alone is a work of art.Derrek Sigler

Yamaha Wolverine X4

Yamaha’s Wolverine X4 is a great machine and it wasn’t any surprise to see them at the rally. GBC Motorsports had one on display that had a cool urban camo-themed wrap.Derrek Sigler

Isota

Hauling your gear can be a challenge when the trail gets rough. Isota has some sweet storage options, including this overland-built General, complete with a topper and a roof rack. We would love to get our hands on something like this for a hunting build some day…Derrek Sigler

HCR

HCR makes some of the best suspension systems you can get for a UTV and its display was sweet, covering a wide range of brands and options. Of course, the wildest one wasn’t in the display.Derrek Sigler

HCR Kawasaki

The mad scientists at Kawasaki worked with HCR and a few other select companies to build the most tricked-out Teryx at the rally, and maybe on the planet. This baby had more lights than the Vegas Strip and the suspension and handling were amazing.Derrek Sigler

Need A Map?

Kawasaki also had a sweet wrap made for another Teryx with a Moab trail map incorporated.Derrek Sigler
