Check Out This Wild Polaris Xpedition Adventure Build

Polaris and Draco UTV decked this rig out for photographer Quinn Schrock.

Polaris and Draco UTV teamed up to build an insane adventure rig for photographer Quinn Schrock.Polaris

Quinn Schrock is an adventure photographer whose stated mission is to “open people’s eyes to the beauty around us.” To do that, he has traveled the world and the length and breadth of these United States seeking out the most remote, beautiful spots he can find. Until now, Schrock has plied his trade in a Sprinter van built for adventures, but the big Mercedes has its limits. Enter, Draco UTV and a custom Polaris Xpedition ADV loaded down with everything Schrock could need to get as far off the beaten track as possible.

The build is striking, with glimmering dark green metallic paint, 15-inch KMC beadlock wheels wrapped with 35-inch EFX tires, and an HCR long-travel suspension kit that bumps the track width out to 72 inches. But the really cool stuff is inside the Xped, where Draco went next level on the adventure mods. It started with a Goal Zero power pack charged by a solar panel. The Goal Zero is powered by a Switch Pros panel, and sends juice to a slide-out kitchen that features a sink and a refrigerator.

Draco did a full custom interior too, with tan leather on the seats, dash, door panels, and steering wheel, plus a custom bed, mattress, and snap-in tent for the rear of the rig. There’s no rooftop tent because the roof rack is decked out with a shower, awning, and storage box.

Draco built a custom bed and tent for the back of the Xpedition, so everything Schrock needs is self-contained.Polaris

Outside, the HCR suspension got powdercoated, Draco added KC Hilites chase lights, rock lights, Pro6 roof rack light, and Flex Era A-pillar lights. Needless to say, Draco’s work made the Xpedition prettier, tougher, more capable, and more comfortable. Right out of the box, the Xpedition is a great adventure rig, but with a few key mods it can be as comfy as your Sprinter van and get you further into the wilderness.
